In August of 2011, the Village of Johnson City entered into an Intermunicipal Agreement with the Town of Union for Planning Services. Village staff members work with Town staff members to process Zoning Applications. Potential applicants should first contact Marina Lane at 607-786-2926. The deadline for submission of zoning applications is the first Friday of the month.

Please be advised that all applicants who have an item on the Planning Board or Zoning Board agenda must personally appear or have a representative appear on their behalf at the Planning Board and if required, the Zoning Board meeting when their application is being considered. Failure to appear may result in the application being denied. If you cannot attend the meeting for any reason, please call our office at 607-797-9098 as soon as possible.
JC Planning Board
The Planning Board is an independent body comprised of five members appointed by the Mayor. Each member serves a five year term, with one member’s term expiring each calendar year. There are no term limits for Planning Board members. Meetings are held on the 4th Tuesday of the month at 7:30pm in the second floor board room at Village Hall, 243 Main St., with a work session at 6:45pm. Meetings are subject to change from the published schedule due to holidays or the Board’s agenda.
